Memphis Express Draw "Sparse" Crowd For Home Opener

Last week's curiosity regarding the AAF has "faded quickly," as a "sparse" crowd of 11,980 turned out for last night's Arizona Hotshots-Memphis Express game at the Liberty Bowl. Visual evidence "suggests that maybe some people were counted twice." The AAF has a "long-term plan" for growth, but if fans "won't be showing up for the games, that will become harder to do" (PROFOOTBALLTALK.com, 2/17). Meanwhile, last night's Salt Lake City Stallions-Birmingham Iron game at Legion Field drew a crowd of 17,319 (AL.com, 2/17).

The San Diego Fleet host the Atlanta Legends tonight at 8:00pm ET, and the Fleet are projecting a crowd of "at least 20,000" and have not "ruled out cracking 30,000" (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 2/13).
