ESPN's Doris Burke Receives Basketball HOF's Curt Gowdy Award

The Basketball HOF yesterday unveiled its finalists for the '18 HOF class, and for ESPN's Doris Burke, who received the HOF's Curt Gowdy award for electronic media, it is a "well-deserved honor for a trailblazer and role model who this season became the first woman to hold the job of full-time NBA color analyst." Burke earned "widespread acclaim for her knowledge and dedication to the job" working as both ESPN's "lead sideline reporter and an astute analyst." Meanwhile, Jim Host, a "sports marketing pioneer" who founded Host Communications, was a recipient of the HOF's John Bunn lifetime achievement award (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 2/17). Longtime NBA photgrapher Andy Bernstein joined Burke as a recipient of the Curt Gowdy award (Basketball HOF).
