KeyBank Center Draws More Than 17,000 For World Juniors Final

Canada beat Sweden 3-1 Friday night to take the Gold Medal at the World Junior Championships before a "Canada-heavy crowd of 17,544" at KeyBank Center (BUFFALO NEWS, 1/6). This marks the 17th time the Canadians have "stepped to the top of the podium at the tournament, which started play in 1977." The final was a "well played, exciting affair worthy of a gold medal platform" (GLOBE & MAIL, 1/6).
