Little Caesars Arena was "filled to capacity" for UFC 218 as "17,587 spectators were in attendance generating" $2M in gate receipts (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 12/3). The DETROIT FREE PRESS' Carlos Monarrez writes the UFC event was his "first in person," and he believed it to be "underwhelming." However, Monarrez writes the promotion did a "good job keeping the action going with 13 bouts spread across six hours." Monarrez: "But it felt formulaic.
