Real Madrid-Inter Milan Breaks Missouri Record For Soccer Crowd

Yesterday's friendly between La Liga club Real Madrid and Serie A club Inter Milan drew a crowd of 54,814 to the Edward Jones Dome, marking the "largest soccer crowd ever" in Missouri. The city of St. Louis "continued to show it will come out for games like this in pretty big numbers," as attendance "eclipsed the crowd at Busch Stadium for the May game" between EPL clubs Chelsea and Manchester City. Event promoter Relevent Sports "is going to come to St. Louis again." Relevent COO Jon Sheiman: "It’s up near the top of places to bring games to when we have the opportunity" (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 8/11).
