A-Rod's Home Debut Brings Mixed Reaction, Yankee Stadium Sellout

Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez' first game at Yankee Stadium this season saw "plenty of boos hurled" in his direction on Friday, but he "believed his return to The Bronx was a rousing success." Rodriguez said, "It was such a great response. It was pretty overwhelming." He added the response was "so much better than I ever even dreamed of" (N.Y. POST, 8/11). The comments "sounded a bit strange coming from someone who was booed as much as he was cheered" (NEWSDAY, 8/11). The game was just the Yankees' "fourth sellout in 55 home games" (CBSSPORTS.com, 8/10).
