L.A.-based esports organization FaZe Clan has hired Christoph Pachler as its new CFO, effective Oct. 3. Pachler has over two decades of finance experience with entertainment and media businesses. His most recent stop was Critical Content, an independent television studio based in L.A., which has produced hits like MTV’s Catfish and Fox’s Who Shot Biggie and Tupac. Pachler also had a stint with Playboy Enterprises, where he assisted in taking the company private. FaZe Clan did not reveal which executive search agency assisted in Pachler’s hiring.

FaZe Clan went public on the Nasdaq in a SPAC merger with B. Riley Principal on July 19. The company already boasts an impressive list of collaborations and partnerships, including an ever-expanding foray with the NFL and a recent campaign with DoorDash. While FaZe Clan’s recent public filings show a loss, revenue is still increasing year over year. The company has signed multiple sports stars, including Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray and LeBron James’ son, Bronny James.

Pachler is set to oversee all aspects of FaZe Clan’s financial matters, including growth strategies and investor relations. According to Yahoo Finance, 38% of FaZe Clan shares are held by the general public. A FaZe Clan spokesperson said that the organization is focused on building its business in the public markets, and Pachler’s experience in both private and public companies will be helpful to FaZe as it finds its way as a public company.
