Sources: NCAA adding bowl game in Texas

The NCAA "added another bowl game in Texas to allow all current bowl-eligible teams a chance to play in the postseason," according to sources. The game reportedly "will be played between a pair of Group of Five teams." The NCAA's Football Oversight Committee approved the additional bowl. The date of the new game is "still to be determined but is expected to be televised on an ESPN network." There are currently 84 bowl-eligible teams. Without the additional bowl, two bowl-eligible teams (six wins) "would not be playing in the postseason" (ACTIONNETWORK.com, 12/2).
