Halle Berry's MMA-themed "Bruised" a Netflix hit

Halle Berry’s directorial debut, MMA film “Bruised,” has been an early success for Netflix. According to the streaming platform, “Bruised” has been ranked #1 in 71 countries and was the second-most-watched English-language film globally in its first week, amassing a total 47.7 million hours of watch time across the first five days after its Nov. 24 release. The popularity marks some early success for recently launched sports content shop Game1 and co-CEO Basil Iwanyk, who was a producer on the project. Earlier this week, Netflix entered into an extended partnership with Berry, who will produce and star in multiple films for the streamer. Game1’s next film, college football feature “National Champions,” is set to release in theaters on Dec. 10.
