Gillette signs with rising golf stars Zalatoris, Homa

Gillette Deodorant today is introducing “The 72 Club,” a nationwide initiative with PGA Tour players Will Zalatoris and Max Homa serving as the program’s first ambassadors. Among the initial activations: Through a deal with The Caddie Network, Gillette Deodorant will be featured on select caddies’ shirts throughout the U.S. Open and next month's Open Championship, while also creating and distributing content with caddies.

The 72 Club also features numerous ways for amateur golfers to get involved, beginning with Nextgengolf’s City Tour, a wholly owned subsidiary of the PGA of America. In addition to having sampling opportunities at select events throughout the City Tour schedule, Gillette also will be a lead sponsor of the season-ending City Tour Championship Sept. 4-5 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisc., site of the upcoming Ryder Cup.

Terms of Zalatoris and Homa’s deals were not disclosed. Gillette Deodorant Senior Brand Dir Chris Talbott, Gillette Deodorant Brand Dir Eugenia Chacón, Gillette Personal Care Senior Brand Manager Chris Mayor and P&G Senior Account Exec Paige Payne have led Gillette during the process. Zalatoris’ agent, Allen Hobbs of Players Group Management, took the lead on his behalf, assisted by Lynn Roach and Mike Chisum of PGM. SBJ did not communicate with Homa.
