TFC To Open MLS Season In Fla., Location TBD

Toronto FC President Bill Manning confirmed yesterday that the club "will open the 2021 MLS regular season in Florida," though an exact location still has not been determined. Asked if there was still a chance TFC could return home to play at BMO Field this year, Manning said: “We sure hope so and will work with our public health officials to ensure protocols are met to satisfy any governmental requirements.” Manning added that TFC is "working on a plan that would allow families to accompany players to Florida for the start of the season" (TORONTO SUN, 2/19).

Meanwhile, MLSE "apologized to Toronto FC season ticket-holders for an email mixup that sent personal information to the wrong people." MLSE attributed the mixup to a “system error” (CP, 2/18).
