Shaq Hosting Live-Streamed Super Bowl LV Pregame Event

Shaquille O’Neal on Feb. 7 will host the inaugural "Shaq Bowl," a livestreamed Super Bowl kickoff show featuring a series of celebrity contests. The three-hour show will be steamed live from a custom-built studio in Tampa and air for free on O’Neal’s Facebook page, with simulcasts on YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, TikTok and other digital platforms. The pregame show will be hosted by former NFLers Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson, and competitors include Ezekiel Elliott, Tim Tebow, actor Anthony Anderson, musicians Diplo, Nelly and Offset, plus WWE's Drew McIntyre and The Miz. Two teams will compete in a series of events that range from dodgeball and tug-of-war to dancing and hot wing eating.

Ecommerce company Mercari is the show’s presenting sponsor. A halftime show featuring performances by Migos and O’Neal (as DJ Diesel) is being presented by Pepsi’s Stronger Together initiative. Other partners include Papa John’s, Corona, Bacardi and Skillshare. The event is being produced by Medium Rare, in partnership with ABG Entertainment, which controls O’Neal’s marketing rights.
