ATP's Early-Season Calendar Confirms Australian Open Shift

The ATP Tour last night released a seven-tournament opening portion of its '21 calendar. The release confirmed the Australian Open’s move to Feb. 8, three weeks later than usual, as well as an unusual opportunity for the Delray Beach Open by Vitacost.com, normally held in late February, to kick off the ATP season on Jan. 5. The N.Y. Open, scheduled for Feb. 8 (the same date as the Australian Open) has been canceled, and eight other normally February-held events are either called off or postponed.

There was no mention by the ATP about the fate of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells in early March, which has been rumored to be looking for new dates with California currently in a statewide lockdown.
