Days Of The New: Mets To Intro Cohen As Red Sox Welcome Cora

Today is a big day for two MLB franchises welcoming new leaders. The Mets will hold an introductory press conference for new Owner Steve Cohen and President Sandy Alderson at 12:30pm ET, and the Red Sox will introduce newly re-hired manager Alex Cora at 1:30pm. Both events will air live on MLB Network (THE DAILY).

Among the key questions for Cohen are: "How hands-on will you be as an owner? How much autonomy will you give Alderson and his deputies?" (N.Y. POST, 11/10). Another potential query: "Does Cohen see the Mets as a business or a hobby?" The Mets' news conference also "will be broadcast on SNY, on Mets.com and the Mets’ social media accounts" (NEWSDAY, 11/10).

For Cora, a "lack of familiarity with his job description isn’t an issue." To the contrary, "experience and history were the traits that separated the 45-year-old from every other candidate whom the Red Sox considered." Yet it is "also his past experiences for which Cora must now answer at the press conference" (BOSTON GLOBE, 11/10).
