Group-Chat Platform Flick Completes $5M Series A Round

FanDuel co-Founders Nigel Eccles and Rob Jones have raised $5M in Series A funding for their latest venture Flick, a mobile app billed as a sports chat platform that allows sports influencers to engage with fans during live games. The round was led by AlleyCorp, with participation from previous investors Bullpen Capital, Everblue Management, Amity Ventures, Courtside VC and several angels. Flick, which was founded in '18, now has total funding to date of $9M.

“The plan is we will integrate sports betting with the product,” Eccles said. “We have a partnership with BetMGM, and we will integrate sports betting within the chat platform.” Jones, who serves as Flick Chief Product Officer, said, “Since May, we’ve seen a significant uptick in our user base growing 45% month-on-month and engagement growing 10x in the same period.”

In addition to his company leading the funding round, AlleyCorp Founder & CEO Kevin Ryan will join Flick’s BOD.
