NFL Attendance: Steelers Welcome Fans Back To Heinz Field

The Steelers for the first time this season welcomed fans to Heinz Field for yesterday's win over the Eagles, and the "official attendance was 4,708" in a venue that normally seats 68,400. It was "different, to be sure." Small groups and individual fans, in the lower bowl only, were "surrounded by empty seats" for the 1:00pm ET kickoff. Ushers held up signs reminding each section, “Please Maintain Social Distance” and “Face Mask Required.” Everyone "seemed to be following that rule." Not all the concessions were open, and "fans had to purchase food to be able to purchase alcohol." Steelers Dir of Communications Burt Lauten said that the same "protocols will be in place for the same number of fans next weekend" (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 10/12).

The Cowboys had "another slight increase in the pandemic-reduced crowd" at 25,147 for their win over the Giants at AT&T Stadium (NBCDFW.com, 10/11). The Falcons had 6,656 fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for their loss to the Panthers (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 10/12). The Chiefs welcomed 13,311 to Arrowhead Stadium for a loss to the Raiders. The Browns hosted 11,759 fans at FirstEnergy Stadium for a win over the Colts. The Texans had 12,413 fans in attendance at NRG Stadium for their victory of the Jaguars (ESPN).
