FC Dallas Owners, Garber Support Reggie Cannon's Comments

FC Dallas co-Owners Dan and Clark Hunt and MLS Commissioner Don Garber have “come out in support” of FC Dallas D Reggie Cannon, who “voiced his ‘disgust’ with fans after players were booed for kneeling during the national anthem” before Wednesday’s match against Nashville SC. The Hunts last night released a joint statement that reads, “We want to be clear: We love and support Reggie Cannon. The racist comments and death threats he has received are repulsive and unacceptable.” Garber in a separate statement said MLS has “consistently for many years” supported “players and staff who protest peacefully on behalf of equality and social justice” (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 8/14).
