NBA, MLS Report No Positives In Latest Testing Within Bubble

The NBA has tested 346 players inside its Orlando bubble since July 13, and "none have shown evidence of the coronavirus," the league and NBPA announced. It is "unknown whether or how many other people inside the league’s campus -- a group that includes coaches, training staff, team personnel, league staff and media -- have tested positive." Regardless, yesterday's test results are an "unquestioned win for the league in its ongoing fight to keep its operation going until the season’s scheduled conclusion in mid-October" (L.A. TIMES, 7/21).

Meanwhile, MLS reported zero positive COVID-19 cases from testing Saturday and Sunday across the "entire 24-team MLS delegation -- players, coaches, staffs, league officials, others -- staying" in its Orlando bubble. The league tested 1,106 people. MLS now "has released 4 consecutive reports of 0 positive cases" from the host hotel (TWITTER.com, 7/20).
