WTA, SAP Launching Online Education Platform For Players

The WTA and partner SAP today will announce the official launch of WTA University, an online educational platform created through the SAP Litmos learning management system. WTA University is a tailored extension of the WTA’s Player Development Program, which offers players resources for physical/mental health, along with personal and professional growth. The sports shutdown prompted the WTA and SAP to expedite the rollout of WTA University and offer a host of new private and live sessions.

Offerings specific to the pandemic’s impacts were added, including daily meditation and yoga sessions, financial coaching from certified specialists and inspiration sessions with tennis legend Billie Jean King. Content and instructors were handpicked by the WTA. The WTA said that 150 players have signed up since the platform launched, logging over 400 hours of learning. The tour is working on expanding the platform during the next year for staff, coaches and other player-support personnel.
