Nevada Commission Bans Faceoff At Wilder-Fury Weigh-In

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has barred heavyweight boxers Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury from "participating in the traditional faceoff at the weigh-in" this evening ahead of tomorrow's rematch. This comes after a Wednesday press conference in which the two fighters "went nose to nose" on stage, and their "confrontation eventually erupted into pushing and shoving, forcing security to intervene." NSAC Exec Dir Bob Bennett said a weigh-in faceoff is "not in the best interest in the health and safety of the fighters" (ESPN.com, 2/20).
