Sources: Steve Cohen Breaking Off Talks To Buy 80% Of Mets

Steve Cohen is "ending negotiations with the Wilpons" on his $2.6B purchase of an 80% stake in the Mets because Cohen is "deeply unhappy with the Wilpons changing the terms of the deal at a very late stage," according to sources. The Wilpons reportedly "pushed late to maintain some control of the franchise beyond the five-year window" that had been agreed upon to transfer the team to Cohen. There also appears to have been some "disagreement over the long-term status of SNY" (N.Y. POST, 2/5).
