Mobile Leaders To Decide Near Future Of Hank Aaron Stadium

Mobile city leaders today will decide which group "can have Hank Aaron Stadium for the next two years." Both Mobile Sports & Entertainment Group and Mississippi-based Kusche Sports Group are "vying for the contract to take over the 22-year-old former home" of the Double-A Mobile BayBears. Yesterday, each "pitched their projects to a City Council committee ahead of the full council picking one" today. The proposals "vary significantly, but each returns baseball games" to the ballpark. MSEG has "no timeline for luring a professional team," while KSG’s backers "vow to bring professional baseball to Mobile" by '21 (AL.com, 12/2).
