Kaepernick To Work Out For NFL Teams At Falcons' Facility

The NFL has arranged for free agent QB Colin Kaepernick to "work out for NFL teams at the Falcons' facility" in Flowery Branch, Ga., on Saturday. A memo about the workout "went out to all 32 teams" yesterday. It is "not known how many teams will attend the workout, which will be closed to the public and the media" (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 11/13).

Sources said that Kaepernick and his reps "weren't alerted until Tuesday morning." When notified, his reps "asked for the workout to be on a Tuesday, which typically is when all NFL workouts take place, since head coaches and general managers can more easily attend." But the NFL reportedly said that the workout "had to be on a Saturday." When the league was asked if it could be on the following Saturday (Nov. 23), the NFL "said no and didn't provide a reason why." According to sources, the league office also said that "none of the 32 teams had been made aware of the workout prior to the memo being sent" (ESPN.com, 11/12).
