Oakland Council OKs Talks With A's On Selling Coliseum

The Oakland City Council voted unanimously to "enter exclusive negotiations" with the A's to "sell the city's half of the Coliseum." But the city "has not yet dropped its lawsuit against the A's, which it filed to block" Alameda County's sale of its share of the 155-acre site to the club. Council member Larry Reid said there are still several "minor things that need to be resolved" regarding the lawsuit. A's President Dave Kaval said that he "hopes the city's announcement includes a conversation on dropping the suit." The next hearing on the suit is Nov. 14 (S.F. CHRONICLE, 11/6).
