Astros Fire Back At SI Report On Assistant GM's Comments

The Astros have called an SI report about comments allegedly made by Assistant GM/Player Evaluation Brandon Taubman "misleading and completely irresponsible." Taubman during the team's ALCS championship celebration on Saturday "yelled in the direction of a group of female reporters." SI reported Taubman yelled toward the group, "Thank God we got (Roberto) Osuna! I'm so (expletive) glad we got Osuna!" about a "half-dozen times." The Astros acquired Osuna in July '18, while he was serving an MLB domestic violence suspension. The Astros said in a statement, "We are extremely disappointed in Sports Illustrated's attempt to fabricate a story where one does not exist" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 10/22).
