Corporate Logos Scrubbed From Arena For NBA China Game

There are no corporate logos on the court in Shanghai as the Nets and Lakers play the first of two preseason games in China, because “most of the sponsors who were associated with this event have pulled out.” Logos had "originally been painted on the hardwood here, which meant that workers had to spend time yesterday re-sanding floors to make everything okay for tonight's game" (“SportsCenter,” ESPN, 10/10).

Meanwhile, the CHINA DAILY, an English-language newspaper owned by China's Communist Party, runs a cartoon by Luo Jie emphasizing the volatility of the NBA-China relationship under the header, "Wrong Move."
