Laugh Track: Pedal To The Medal

Actor Ben Stiller checked in with Jimmy Kimmel last night, where he revealed that he follows the Tour de France closer than most fans. Stiller: "If you don't watch all of it, it doesn't mean anything. But if you do watch all of it, it still means very little. It's very hard to understand.” Stiller said when a cyclist gets a flat tire, it is the "opposite of watching a Formula One pit stop." Kimmel asked, “Do you have friends who watch this with you?” Stiller: “I have one friend who watches it with me. ... And we alienate everybody else.” Kimmel: “For three weeks?” Stiller: “My children look at me, ‘When is the Tour de France over?’” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 8/6).

NBC’s Seth Meyers had fun with Ryan Lochte's return to competitive swimming over the weekend: "He didn't know he was suspended, he just thought that's how long you're supposed to wait after eating” (“Late Night,” NBC, 8/6).

CBS’ Stephen Colbert said the Democratic National Committee “just announced the rules" for October’s presidential debate and they “could let some candidates back in for October.” Colbert: “No! The whole point of this is elimination. There’s a reason that March Madness doesn’t go from the Elite Eight to the Final Four to the Terrific Twelve to the Nifty Nine to the Thrifty Thirteen. You go down!” (“The Late Show,” CBS, 8/6).
