USWNT Ramps Up Media Tour With "GMA," ESPYs Visits

The USWNT's media tour is in full swing following their FIFA Women's World Cup title, with the team appearing this morning on ABC's "GMA." Megan Rapinoe said of the team being tagged as a dynasty, “If the shoe fits, you gotta put it on. This team fits well into that word.” Alex Morgan said, "This program has such a rich history of success and as long as we can continue to carry the torch, I think we're doing a pretty good job.” Rapinoe said of what it’s going to take for the women’s team to be compensated as well as the men are, "The conversation needs to move from, 'Are we worth it?' or, 'Should we have equal pay?' to, 'What can we do now? How can FIFA support the federations? How can federations support their players better? How can the leagues support their players better?'" Rapinoe then addressed fans directly: "Watch the national team. Watch your local club teams” (“GMA,” ABC, 7/9).

The team will "continue their World Cup victory tour with a stop at this week's ESPYs." After tomorrow's ticker-tape parade in N.Y., the team will head to L.A. for the awards show (N.Y. POST, 7/9). Rapinoe also will appear tonight on MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" at 9:00pm ET (Mult., 7/8).
