Mets GM Van Wagenen Sits With Fan Group At Home Game

Mets Exec VP & GM Brodie Van Wagenen during last night's home win over the Yankees "sat with the 7 Line Army -- a traveling group of Mets fans dressed in orange jerseys -- in right-center field for 4 1/2 innings." Van Wagenen, who was "making good on a February promise," wore one of the 7 Line Army jerseys. At one point, fans chanted "Brodie, Brodie, Brodie." Van Wagenen "had fun with it." Prior to Mets 2B Robinson Cano's first at-bat, he "cupped his hand to his ears, a la Hulk Hogan, and spun around as if to challenge fans to boo" (N.Y. POST, 7/3).

Despite "all the frustration amongst the fan base," last night was "nothing short of a love fest" for the exec. Van Wagenen "took pictures with fans," while he "shared laughs and even took part in Seven Line traditions of chanting and waving his arms for a strikeout of the opposing team" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 7/3).
