Intersport Brand Engagement & Content Summit

The Canadian federal government is providing C$4.3M to "help Canada prepare" for the '26 FIFA World Cup (GLOBE & MAIL, 5/24).

The ATP has agreed to make the annual Laver Cup an official part of the tour calendar (ATP).

Lawmakers in the Louisiana House have "backed a regulatory framework and tax rate for online fantasy sports contests for cash prizes," making Louisiana the 42nd state to "allow online fantasy sports betting" (AP, 5/23).

Joe Gibbs Racing has formed Gibbs Gaming, an esports team that will be sponsored by Interstate Batteries. The team will launch with the eNASCAR Heat Pro League competition this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway (JGR).

The Univ. of Virginia on Saturday will stage the "final demolition" of University Hall, the school's former basketball home (Hampton Roads DAILY PRESS, 5/24).
