NBA G League Honors Texas Legends, Team President

The NBA G League named the Texas Legends Franchise of the Year and Legends President & GM Malcolm Farmer Team Exec of the Year for '18-19. G League President Shareef Abdur-Rahim announced the awards at the league’s sales and marketing meetings yesterday in Las Vegas. The Mavericks affiliate ranked first among the league’s 27 teams in attendance and had 23 sellouts at Comerica Center in Frisco. The Legends also ranked among the league leaders in media-rights deals, corporate sponsorships and merchandise sales.

Under Farmer, the Legends partnered with FS Southwest, which also televises Mavericks games. The Legends produced their own game telecasts and content through their in-house studio. Also, the club wore customized jerseys at home games highlighting a charity or sponsor. Farmer becomes the second Legends exec to receive the award after Bill Boyce won in '13.
