NFL Renewal Highlights Twitter's Latest Slate Of Sports Deals

Twitter at the Digital Content NewFronts in N.Y. announced several renewals in the sports space, highlighted by a multiyear extension with the NFL that adds "six new live shows for the league's 100th season." The deal features "live programming built around some of the NFL's biggest events and more game highlights each week." In addition to the live shows, fans will see "new content during the season, including NFL Twitter 'Moments' -- curated Twitter feeds featuring top plays and tweets." The two sides first partnered in '13 (AP, 4/29).

Twitter also extended its deal with MLS through '22, and the league will continue to provide Twitter with a package of live and on-demand content each week, including every goal of the MLS season. Select live matches will continue to be broadcast on the platform through @UnivisionSports and @MLS. Additionally, Twitter reached agreements with The Players' Tribune, Bleacher Report, Blizzard Entertainment and ESPN, with "ESPN Onsite" to be the brand extension for the net's live shows on location (THE DAILY).
