Laugh Track: Bracket Buster

CBS’ Stephen Colbert joked he "made it to the ‘Big Dance’" in the N.Y. Post's satirical "Mueller Madness" bracket, which ranked the media pundits who had been the most outspoken on the Robert Mueller report ahead of its findings. Colbert, a No. 3 seed, said he was the “ultimate Cinderella story." Now he could face his “good friend,” No. 4 seed HBO host John Oliver, in the next round. Colbert: “Looks like I’m ranked higher in the fake New York Post bracket. I guess you'll have to content yourself with all those Emmys, sucker” (“The Late Show,” CBS, 3/26).

During his monologue last night, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel noted his sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez attended the recent LAFC-Real Salt Lake game and was in the broadcast booth. Rodriguez said his friend works for LAFC and he received a text to come to "say hi to the people.” Kimmel: “He did say 'hi' to the people and it only got less coherent from there.” Rodriguez then did play-by-play commentary of the game, with Kimmel saying, “It’s the first time I’ve ever been able to actually hear tequila” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 3/26).
