NFL Owners Set To Discuss Possible 49ers Game In China

NFL owners at their meetings in Arizona today will discuss "whether they want to play a game in China next season, one in which the 49ers possibly would give up a home game." A final decision on "whether to go ahead with a game likely wouldn’t be made for several months." The "loose plan would be for the game to be played at the start" of the '20 season, "perhaps to kick off the season in the same fashion" as the recent A’s-Mariners series in Tokyo. Both Beijing and Shanghai "are being considered" as sites. A Rams-49ers game in China "has been bandied about for several years" (THEATHLETIC.com, 3/25).
