Phillies' Ticket Sales See Huge Spike In Aftermath Of Harper Deal

The Phillies will introduce Bryce Harper today at a press conference, and the team has "sold about 100,000 tickets" since his signing was reported yesterday afternoon. Before the Harper news broke, the Phillies had "sold roughly 200,000 more tickets than at this same point last year." The haul since yesterday "might be a 1-day record" (TWITTER.com, 3/1). Meanwhile, ticket prices for the Phillies' home opener against the Braves on March 28 have "ballooned" since yesterday. Tickets that were going for around $80 early yesterday went up to more than $99, and fans will "have to drop" at least $116 for right-field seats. Tickets go "all the way up to $350" (NBCSPORTSPHILADELPHIA.com, 2/28).

After Harper's record deal with the Phillies was reported, "MLB The Show 19" tweeted out its "official cover" with Harper dressed in a Phillies uniform (NBCSPORTSPHILADELPHIA.com, 2/28).
