Tour Championship: East Lake Boasts New Premium Areas

The Tour Championship tees off today in Atlanta, and while a lot of talk this week has been around changes coming to the PGA Tour finale next year, there are plenty of changes fans will see this week at East Lake Golf Club. The 1904 Club is “this year’s big new thing,” as the clubhouse will be "made-over into an exclusive tournament-week enclave where for $4,000 one might sample five days-worth of celebrity chef dining.” Other features include The Deck, a "shaded area to watch players on the practice tee," and the "SO Cool Zone behind the 15th green," where attendees can see an aquarium exhibit. There also is a swing simulator at the Coca-Cola Lounge (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 9/18).

Meanwhile, Rolex runs a full-page ad in USA Today touting some of the top golfers who will be at East Lake this week -- Jason Day, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Rickie FowlerJon Rahm -- and one who is absent: Jordan Spieth (THE DAILY).
