NFL Cardinals Suspend GM Steve Keim After DUI Arrest

The NFL Cardinals have suspended GM Steve Keim for five weeks, "beginning immediately, and fined him $200,000 after he pleaded guilty to extreme DUI Tuesday morning." The team also "ordered Keim to undergo counseling." During his suspension, Keim is barred from the Cardinals' Tempe HQ and "prohibited from contact with the team." His duties will be "split among the current front office," including VP/Player Personnel Terry McDonough and Dir of Football Operations Mike Disner (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 7/18). The NFL will "not impose additional punishment" (ESPN.com, 7/17). Keim is "required to serve 48 hours in jail," which began last night. He also will have "one week of home detention" (KPNX-NBC, 7/17).

Meanwhile, Cardinals TE Ricky Seals-Jones was "arrested over the weekend on suspicion of assault, disorderly conduct and trespassing after an altercation at a Scottsdale hotel," according to police (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 7/18).
