Chris Hill Begins Last Day As Utah AD Before Retirement

Today is Chris Hill's last day as Utah AD, and his retirement after 31 years on the job "signals the end to the most important era in the history of Utah athletics." Hill leaves behind a department in "tiptop shape, with proven coaches in vital positions, key facility upgrades finished and a longtime stadium expansion plan underway." He retires as the "longest-tenured AD" at a D-I school. Ventura Partners, the search firm hired by the school in early May, "remains in the process of gathering potential candidates to present" to school President Ruth Watkins. Sources said that there has been "significant interest in the Utah AD job from all levels across the country" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 6/1).
