Ibrahimovic Talks Move To MLS, Shows Trademark Confidence

Galaxy F Zlatan Ibrahimovic appeared on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel” last night, and host Jimmy Kimmel said Ibrahimovic has gotten “this city interested in Major League Soccer and manbuns again.” Ibrahimovic took out a full page ad in the L.A. Times after scoring two goals in his MLS debut which read simply, “Dear Los Angeles, You’re Welcome.” Ibrahimovic: “I wanted to make a statement and I mean, every movie has a good start.” Kimmel: “No, most movies are terrible.” Ibrahimovic: “Not this one.” Kimmel said, “It's very unusual to get this kind of enthusiasm for anything related to soccer. I mean, for the most part here, soccer is a game we wish our kids didn't play so we didn't have to go to it.”

When asked if he worried his teammates would be offended by his confidence and the attention he receives, Ibrahimovic said, “No, I make them superstars just like I make you.” Ibrahimovic was asked if he would play for Sweden in the World Cup, but only said he was “going to the World Cup.” But he added, “A World Cup without me wouldn't be a World Cup.” Kimmel: “You really should give talks to people to teach people to have self-confidence, because I'm feeling like more of a man just sitting right next to you” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 4/17).
