DC Solar Gets Naming Rights To Richmond Raceway Fan Area

Richmond Raceway this morning will announce that DC Solar has bought naming rights to the track’s new infield fan area. Financial terms were not disclosed for the multiyear deal, which will see the California-based energy company have its brand attached to the new space being built as part of the track’s $30M renovation. The announcement with the ISC-owned track comes a day after DC Solar announced that it has dramatically expanded the number of NASCAR venues it is providing solar products to; it now has more than 1,500 units at eight of 12 ISC tracks and all eight SMI tracks. DC Solar also is a primary sponsor of Chip Ganassi Racing’s No. 1 and 42 Chevrolets. Richmond Raceway, whose renovation project is about 65% complete, hosts its spring NASCAR national series races this coming weekend.
