City Council Holding Special Vote On FC Cincinnati Stadium Plan

Cincinnati City Council will hold a special 4:00pm ET meeting today for a vote on the $33.8M for "roads and other infrastructure" for FC Cincinnati's proposed 21,000-seat stadium and to "approve a set of promises from the team." City Council "normally meets on Wednesday." City council member P.G. Sittenfeld, who proposed the city's plan to help build a $212.5M West End stadium with fellow councilman David Mann, said that tomorrow could be the "last day for FC Cincinnati to secure an MLS franchise during this round of expansion." However, today's city council vote is "not a sure thing," as four of the nine council members "publicly oppose the plan" (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 4/16).
