Laugh Track: Expert Analysis

TBS’ Conan O’Brien said he was “very excited” about the NCAA Tournament but sidekick Andy Richter said he wasn’t, noting “I’m not into sports.” O’Brien replied, “But you must know a little bit about sports, Andy.” Richter: “Not at all, Conan.” O’Brien then said “it's time for ‘Andy Richter's Sports Blast!” segment. Richter: “Let’s play some sports. The college basketball games are in full swing and that's what we in the sports business call ‘March Craziness!’ So let's head over to the wall of basketballs.” The “wall of basketballs’ was actually a wall of footballs, with Richter noting “’March Craziness’ kicked off this weekend when the original 38 seedlings were whittled down in the Sour 11.” Richter said of the NCAA Tournament bracket which appeared on-screen, “As you can see, there's a lot going on there so I'm not even going to try to figure it out. Now here's our ‘Sports Blast!’ correspondent Conan O’Brien with a bunch of batting averages.” O’Brien: “Thanks a lot, Andy. .350, .292, .278, .378, .253, .332 and .301.” Richter: “Wow! You got them all correct!” (“Conan,” TBS, 3/20).

Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” aired another installment of their “bracket” challenge “Third Month Mania Bracket of Bullshit." Host Trevor Noah said their bracket “will determine the best bullshit of the past year” with over one million votes from fans online (“The Daily Show,” Comedy Central, 3/20).

More O’Brien: “A 102-year-old woman broke a pair of world track and field records. Yeah, amazing. 102. The 102-year-old ran the 100-meter dash with a time of February” (“Conan,” TBS, 3/20).
