Capitals, Maple Leafs Cancel Practices Ahead Of Outdoor Game

Both the Capitals and Maple Leafs’ practices in Annapolis today have been "canceled ahead of the teams’ outdoor game Saturday," due to a "high wind warning in effect for most of the region" through the afternoon, including gusts reportedly up to 60 mph. That means the first time players will "get a feel for the rink at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium will be at a morning skate" before the 8:00pm ET puck drop. Capitals coach Barry Trotz: "They’re going to disassemble the boards and what have you, just because of the high winds that are possible." Saturday night's forecast currently "calls for partly cloudy skies and 44 degrees" at game time (WASHINGTON POST, 3/2).
