Morning Hot Reads: Gruden Grinder

The MMQB's takes a look back at Jon Gruden's final broadcast for ESPN this past weekend. Gruden "has been a crucial piece" of ESPN's "MNF" broadcast since he was hired in '09, but after "talking to Sean McDonough and members of his crew, it's clear that coaching is his passion -- and he's following that." The PALM BEACH POST goes with the header, "Jon Gruden’s Splashy Rehire By Oakland Raiders No Guarantee Of Success." Coaching in the NFL is "harder than Bill Belichick makes it look."

The HOCKEY NEWS writes the NHLPA "hasn't forgotten about the NHL's decision to skip the Pyeongchang Olympics, but don't expect the players to use all-star weekend as a platform to make a stand." What people are "more inclined to see is most of the players voicing their disagreement with the decision not to go to Pyeongchang if they’re asked." Players "don’t really want to lose money to make a point, so a boycott is pretty much out of the question."
