Laugh Track: From Russia, With Love

NBC’s Jimmy Fallon noted the IOC has “banned Russia from competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics because of doping violations, or as Putin put it, ‘Hello Donald, it's time to return favor.’ Russia was banned from the Olympics, but Russia doesn't mind. They said they'll just invade some other teams." Fallon added, "Athletes from Russia can still participate, but they won't get credit for winning any medals. Yeah, Olympic events that don't matter, or as most people call it, curling.” Meanwhile, Fallon said, “After going 2-10 this season, the Giants have fired coach Ben McAdoo and General Manager Jerry Reese. Well, if you're wondering what happened to Ben and Jerry, they're probably on the couch eating some Ben & Jerry's right now” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 12/5).

CBS’ Stephen Colbert: "Remember back in 2014 at the Sochi Games when Russia was caught up in a huge doping scandal? It's all in the documentary ‘Rocky IV.’ ... That is shocking: Russia was punished for interfering with the results of something? Not only is Russia banned, but the country's government officials are forbidden to attend, its flag will not be displayed at the Opening Ceremony, and its anthem will not sound. Also, for the duration of the Games, any Russian dressing served in the Olympic Village will be referred to as ‘cheater sauce.’" Colbert: "Any athletes who can prove they never doped will be allowed to compete as individuals wearing a neutral uniform, but the official record books will forever show that Russia won zero medals. Well, what happens if one of the nationless athletes wins Gold? Do they just stand on the podium staring at nothing while we listen to two-and-a-half minutes of whatever's on the radio? I hope so, because I would love to see a speedskater tear up to ‘My Sharona’” (“The Late Show,” CBS, 12/5).

TBS’ Conan O’Brien: "Don’t feel bad, Russia. Even though you won’t win any Gold Medals, you did win the U.S. presidential election” (“Conan,” TBS, 12/5).
