Gennady Golovkin-Canelo Alvarez Rematch Could Take Place In Dallas

Boxer Gennady Golovkin was in Dallas this week to "promote his new sponsorship deal" with Tecate. While in town, promoter Tom Loeffler indicated that they were "shopping for a host venue for a rematch" with Canelo Alvarez. The rematch is a "given, although nothing has been signed." The bout "most likely will happen on May 5, Cinco de Mayo" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 10/26). Loeffler during a visit to Azerbaijan a few weeks ago said that he "would like to have" the rematch at AT&T Stadium "because of the possibility to draw over 100,000 people" (DALLASNEWS.com, 10/25).
