Hearst Corp. has "agreed to acquire Rodale, which owns Runner’s World and Men’s Health, another sign of consolidation in an industry struggling to offset declines in print" (N.Y. TIMES, 10/19). A source said that the "price was under" $225M (WSJ.com, 10/18).

The Royals are "installing new lights" at Kauffman Stadium ahead of next season. The team is "removing 600 'halide' lights and will replace them with 412 LED lights." Royals officials said that this will "provide better overall coverage of the field" and reduce shadows (K.C. STAR, 10/19).

A "get well message" to Celtics F Gordon Hayward "flashed on the videoboard" at TD Garden last night after the introduction of the starting lineups in the Celtics' home opener against the Bucks. Then came a "short video of a chipper-looking Hayward delivering a message to his teammates and fans from his hospital bed" (BOSTON GLOBE, 10/19).
