NFL Sponsors Activate Around Chiefs-Patriots, Kick Off Campaigns

The NFL season begins tonight with Chiefs-Patriots, and Hyundai will serve as presenting sponsor of the NFL Kickoff game. At Gillette Stadium, Hyundai will host former NFLers for autograph sessions, provide fans a photo opportunity to share on social media and offer giveaways including a $10 NFLShop.com gift card. The on-site activation also will display four Hyundai vehicles. In addition, the brand is sponsoring a free live performance at the Kickoff concert at Christopher Columbus Park in downtown Boston. The Kickoff activation is managed by Advantage. During the NBC's pregame coverage, Hyundai will air a spot for its Sonata vehicle with the “Official Sponsor of The NFL” designation at the end. Throughout the season, the brand will continue to run ads that celebrate NFL fandom.

League sponsor Bridgestone today is set to debut a nationwide marketing campaign featuring ESPN's Jon Gruden. The "Pep Talk" ads will begin airing during the Chiefs-Patriots broadcast. Bridgestone is in its 11th year as an NFL partner. Fellow league sponsor Papa John's kicks off its season-long campaign today as well. The pizza chain's ads will celebrate the people off the field whose gameday contributions are sometimes overlooked. They will be voiced by Mike Rowe.

Meanwhile, the league this week sent out emails to fans promoting the upcoming season. Signed by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, the email highlights the issues of officiating, health & safety, player celebrations and the fan experience (THE DAILY).
