Orioles' Adam Jones Gets Standing Ovation At Fenway Park

Orioles CF Adam Jones "received a standing ovation from the Red Sox crowd before his first at-bat" of last night's game at Fenway Park. This comes after Jones on Monday heard "racial taunts" from the crowd. Jones said of his reception last night, "Much appreciated. It was also much appreciated by the Boston Red Sox and MLB getting ahead of it" (ESPN.com, 5/3).

Today’s network morning shows all addressed the controversy surrounding Jones and the Red Sox. “CBS This Morning” and NBC’s “Today” both aired taped reports about 15 minutes into the broadcast, while ABC’s “GMA” ran its report about 45 minutes in. NBC teased the report in their opening with the headline, “Standing Up For What’s Right.” ABC featured appearances from ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith and Jessica Mendoza (THE DAILY).
