Fox Cancels Baseball-Themed "Pitch" After One 10-Episode Season

Fox has canceled the baseball-themed drama "Pitch" after one 10-episode season, with exec producer Kevin Falls tweeting the news out yesterday. "Pitch" was "one of the most hotly anticipated new series" of '16-17, but the cancellation is "not a surprise." Despite "early buzz," the show "never connected with viewers." Following its first 10 installments, Fox "did not go forth with a back-order, signaling the imminent cancellation" (VARIETY.com, 5/1).
